Palm Springs Airport - KPSP

On a very warm and balmy evening in Palm Springs back in July, I made my first visit out to the Palm Springs Airport to have a look and try to take a few photos. Well the place was dead quiet, literary nothing happening. I walked through the terminal from one end to the other, and I was the only one there, weird, never seen an airport so quiet.

So I headed off outside for a look to see if I could find as least one plane to photograph. Nothing...
So a drive around to the other side of the airport to see if I could find anything and this is all I saw, a couple of retired or out of service Skywest Embraer EMD-120's parked up collecting dust.
Also got the West Jet B737-800, C-GJWS departing.

The Embraer EMB-120 is a great Turbo Prop, and I have flown on one many times' mainly between LAX-SAN on United Express.

It's looks well proportioned in size and I actually quite like them. Would like to take a flight on one one day.

Los Angeles Sunset - 24L Arrivals

A bit of a mix up this time of some arrivals into LAX just before sunset onto runway 24L.
I took all these shots from the same spot in very warm humid conditions, and with beautiful clear skies.

Great Barrier Airlines - ZK-RDT

Happy New Year Everyone. I'm back from my break away and ready to get into more photo's for 2015.

Well to kick of my first post for 2015, I thought I'd start with these photos taken back in October 2014.
I was asked by Great Barrier Airlines if I could take some photos, so they could update their website with some new pics. So I was more than happy to help out.

Great Barrier Airlines has been operating since 1983 when it first flew out of Ardmore to Great Barrier Island, which it located 55 nautical miles north east of Auckland of the coast of the northern tip of the Coromandel Peninsula. They now operate out of Auckland Airport and the North Shore Airfield.

My ride out to the island was on board their Embraer EMB-820C, ZK-RDT which was my first flight in this aircraft type, which is also know as and is a Piper Navajo (Chieftain).
