Singapore Airlines Cargo, Sunset Departure

Good to see nice weather in Auckland, even though winter is on the way. With the sun heading north, it sure does make for some great golden hour photos at this time of year.

Seen here departing for Melbourne with a very light load, is SQ's B747-400F, 9V-SFP earlier on in the week. In the second to last shot, an Air NZ A320 managed to photobomb just above SFP.

Emirates Sky Cargo B747-400F, OO-THD

First time visitor to New Zealand for this Emirates Sky Cargo B747-400F Freighter OO-THD arriving from Dubai via Sydney Australia on the 9th April.

OO-THD had the honours of being the first Emirates Sky Cargo B747 freighter to visit Auckland.

It arrived to collect Emirates Team New Zealand's yacht for the next Americas Cup Regatta which is due to commence in Bermuda in about 5 weeks time.

After loading its very precious cargo overnight on the 9th April it departed just before 11:00 am on the 10th April for Bermuda via Los Angeles.

Good luck Emirates Team New Zealand, Bring the Cup back home,

Atlas Air B747-400F, N493MC

Some new photos with the new camera of Atlas Air B747-400F, N493MC, operated on behalf of Qantas Freight taxing out very slowly due to queue for departures off 23L at Auckland.

I attended the Black Sands fly-in event again this year at Raglan, so photos from that event in the pipeline soon to post.

Singapore Airlines Cargo B747-400F, 9V-SFO

Well I've had the new camera for about a month now and I actually have not had a chance to practise much with it, and have only taken a few photos on days when the weather was actually nice.

I managed to catch these shots of Singapore Airlines Cargo 9V-SFO taxing out as SQ7297 to Melbourne with the sun getting very low in the west. Still lots to learn with the new camera.

Singapore Airlines Freighter, 9V-SFP

I haven't caught up with a Singapore Airlines Cargo B747-400F Freighter for some time, as their flight schedule through Auckland is not exactly the best time, either early or late after dark, or I'm just not around.

Well these photos were possible due to a 3 hour delay, due to mechanical reasons, which made for some nice winter morning photos of 9V-SFP heading out as SQ7293 to Melbourne.
