Barrier Air Grand Caravan - ZK-SDB

Great Barrier Airlines has re branded itself and is now called Barrier Air.

Barrier Air are now also operating this Cessna Grand Caravan, ZK-SDB which arrived into New Zealand in July 2015 after a long ferry flight from the United States. I actually quite like the Caravan, and have yet to fly on one.

Great Barrier Airlines ZK-PLA

Back to some old photos I have of this Great Barrier Airlines Partenavia, ZK-PLA.

I took these photos at the beginning of last summer at the North Shore Airfield, I saw PLA doing some circuits at the field as I was heading south on the motorway, so I made a detour and managed to get these photos.

Great Barrier Airlines ZK-FVD

Back to some photos from late 2014, and my trip out to Great Barrier Island, with Great Barrier Airlines for the day. The reason for the trip was to get some good photos for Great Barrier Airlines so they could update the photos on their website.

Arriving into Great Barrier just after at the Barrier, their Britten-Norman Islander ZK-FVD arrived with plane load of passengers and freight. After unloading, the pilot then embarked on this quick flight and circuit around the airfield so I could get some photos.

And this is what I can up with, so glad the skies were blue....

Great Barrier Airlines - ZK-RDT

Happy New Year Everyone. I'm back from my break away and ready to get into more photo's for 2015.

Well to kick of my first post for 2015, I thought I'd start with these photos taken back in October 2014.
I was asked by Great Barrier Airlines if I could take some photos, so they could update their website with some new pics. So I was more than happy to help out.

Great Barrier Airlines has been operating since 1983 when it first flew out of Ardmore to Great Barrier Island, which it located 55 nautical miles north east of Auckland of the coast of the northern tip of the Coromandel Peninsula. They now operate out of Auckland Airport and the North Shore Airfield.

My ride out to the island was on board their Embraer EMB-820C, ZK-RDT which was my first flight in this aircraft type, which is also know as and is a Piper Navajo (Chieftain).
