Thai Airways First B787-9 Into Auckland

Thai Airways have yet again changed aircraft type on their Bangkok - Auckland - Bangkok flights, this time changing from the B777-300ER to the B787-9.

They only operated the B777-300ER for s short period after operating the B777-200ER for quite a number of years.

Thai only have two B787-9's, HS-TWA & HS-TWB and they will be dedicated to the Auckland route.

Thai Airways B777-300ER, HS-TKZ

Thai Airways have up gauged their Bangkok - Auckland - Bangkok flights, TG491/2 from a B777-200ER to a B777-300ER until the 15th November.

From the 16th November they intend to operated their brand new B787-9's on the route.

Auckland Reduced Length Runway - Thai Airways

My only other photos of reduced length operations at Auckland. So was lucky to get these photos also of TG491, HS-TJV arriving. I'm kicking myself now wishing I'd made it out to get more photos of these long landings. I'm sure there will another time.

I must admit I haven't taken many shots lately of Thai Airways at Auckland, so made a special trip to get these photos of Thai Airways TG492, B777-200ER, HS-TJS departing from 05R.
Next time I'll try for some sunnier conditions, summers coming !!!!!

Thai Airways, HS-TJT

Thai Airways currently operate the B777-200ER into Auckland with their scheduled flights from Bangkok/Thailand. TG491 arrival and TG492 back to Bangkok.

Over recent years Thai Airways have also used the B747-400 & A340-600 into Auckland.
