Palm Springs Air Museum

Palm Springs was one of our stops on our road trip back in July. On the afternoon of our last day in town I made a quick visit out to the Palm Springs Air Museum to see the Military display aircraft out the front of the complex. There is a good collection of fighters on display, all collecting dust in this high desert region. I'll do several posts of the photos I took there, and I'll save my favourite
US Combat Fighter Jet for the last.

The Air Museum is a living history museum dedicated to educating the public about the role Air Power played in preserving American liberties and way of life. The Museum preserves, exhibits, and flies aircraft from World War Two, Korea, and the Vietnam Wars.

So to start with is this FA-18 Hornet.

Just a few shots of some of the non-flying static display F/A18's from the Miramar  Air Show back in October 2012.

The display by the F/A-18 Super Hornet, 216, was just awesome. The sun was in the wrong place in the sky at the time of the display, so it was quite hard to get some good shots, so I have picked out some that worked best.

Ohakea F18 Hornets

There was no way I was going to miss the Ohakea 2012 Airshow, celebrating the RNZAF's 75th Anniversary. So the first photos I thought I would post would be of the visiting RAAF, F18 Hornets, from the 77th Squadron based at Newcastle, Australia. Quite a few photos but something different with each one.
