Black Sands 2015 - ZK-CUD

Some closeup and approach shots this time of a Piper Cherokee, ZK-CUD landing at the Black Sands 2015 event at Raglan. The Cherokee is a favorite also of mine, and was the first light aircraft that I flew in. Once again we sure were lucky with the weather.

A Nice and clean and good old trustworthy Piper PA-38 Tomahawk, ZK-EVD taxing out at Black Sands Raglan. I have flown in one quite a fews time and actually really like the Tomahawk.

Black Sands Raglan - ZK-PAL

Ok back at Black Sands, Raglan and this time photos of this very well looked after and very clean Piper PA-22-135 Tail Dragger, ZK-PAL. This was the first time I have actually seen PAL in person as having only seen photos of it myself. So I was pleased to see it turn up in Raglan for the day.

Omaka Airfield

On a recent trip to the South Island, and my very short visit to the Omaka Airfield in Blenheim, was well worth it, with great line up waiting for me to take photos of, and no none of these photos were planned, I just turned up and this is what was waiting for me.

A Boeing Stearman, Douglas DC3, Cessna 182, Piper Cherokee and a De Havilland Tiger Moth.

There was a gentleman also at the airfield flying his yellow Piper Cub radio remote control airplane and he thought that this would be a great photo of his model plane and ZK-BER together. Cute.

Sleeping Piper PA-38

Rural Aviation - was driving down south from Auckland and saw this sleeping Piper PA-38, ZK-WRB parked up at a small airstrip in the Waikato, just west of Hamilton, so made a quick stop for these pics.

Sunair ZK-ECM

Sunair is a small airline in the North Island of New Zealand operating scheduled flights and is also available for charters. Sunair is based in Tauranga and fly's to Whitianga, Gisborne, Rotorua, Napier, New Plymouth, Hamilton, Tauranga and Auckland.

Managed to get some photos of this Piper PA-25-235, ZK-SUG at Paraparaumu Airfield early in 2012.

At the time of these photos it was being used as a Tow Plane for the local Gliding Club.

Based out of Santa Monica Municipal Airport, KSMO, is the PROTEUS AIR Flying School.

Great place to learn to fly in Southern California, and seen here during a training flight is one of the aircraft in the fleet.
