Well I've been trying for years waiting to get a shot like this one, and at last finally managed to get one. It could have been a lot better if I had a better camera and lens.

Shot taken 2 weeks ago from home of Air New Zealand's B777-200ER, ZK-OKD downwind for 23L.

Full Power Wet Runway Takeoff

Just after a very heavy downpour of rain Air New Zealand's flight, NZ28 from Auckland to Houston in ZK-OKE taxied out and departed on a very wet Runway 23L. As you can see dark clouds moving away to the south.

United Airlines B777-200ER, N797UA

United Airlines have changed from B787-8 services to Auckland to now a daily B777-200ER operations with an extra 50 seats available each day between SFO-AKL-SFO.

Sure is good to see United back in Auckland, but miss the B747-400's they used to fly here.

Just made it in time to get these photos of N797UA arriving on runway 05R, I would have been nice to have the sun out a little more and some nice blue sky, maybe next time.

Nice light for this photo of NZ28 to Houston taking off and a Air New Zealand (Air Nelson) Link Q300 taxing back to the terminal.

Korean Airlines B777-200ER, HL7764

I took these photos back on the 10th May this year, of this Korean Airlines B777-200ER, HL7764 when the weather was still quite warm. And today there was quite a bit of humidity in the air as you can see by the vapour forming in the engine intake during this powerful takeoff of KE130 back to Seoul.

Air New Zealand B777-200ER, ZK-OKG

The late afternoon winter sun is the best time at the moment to get photos of arrivals and departures from runway 05R at Auckland.

This time photos of ZK-OKG. The first two photos are of NZ136 arriving from Brisbane back in April and the last three photo's only taken his week in almost identical light and weather conditions.
The last three photos are NZ28 departing for Houston.

Repaint and New Livery for ZK-OKA

Air New Zealand's third B777-200ER to receive the new livery arrived back in Auckland on the 3rd June from FTW, in Texas.

ZK-OKA arrived as NZ6004 non stop from FTW just on sunset and in time for these photos. The other two B777-200's that also wear the new livery are ZK-OKC & ZK-OKE.

Air New Zealand B777-200ER Repaint, ZK-OKE

Air New Zealand's ZK-OKE is the second B777-200ER to receive the new livery in their B777-200 fleet.. The new repaint took place in Texas at Fort Work Meacham FTW.

My first photos here of ZK-OKE taxing out on a very damp, dark and wet Sunday, with dark clouds approaching from the southwest, and requiring lots of camera settings to be changed.

Sorry for so many Air NZ photos this week, but had great weather, as you can tell from the blue skies, well to the east of the airport anyway, for the arrivals into Auckland a week or so ago.

Next to arrive was ZK-OKE in these photos, about five minutes after ZK-NCJ had arrived.

Auckland Reduced Length Runway - Thai Airways

My only other photos of reduced length operations at Auckland. So was lucky to get these photos also of TG491, HS-TJV arriving. I'm kicking myself now wishing I'd made it out to get more photos of these long landings. I'm sure there will another time.

Air New Zealand B777-200ER, ZK-OKA

Its been a long time since I've taken some photos of Air New Zealand's B777-200ER, ZK-OKA.

ZK-OKA was the first ever B777 delivered to Air New Zealand over 10 years ago, and is wearing the same livery it was delivered in. No news yet on the progression of the B777-200ER's new livery repaint's but I wonder if OKA will be next to get the black and white fern livery.

It was good to get these closeup shots during some taxiway works back in November 2015.

Singapore Airlines B777-200ER, 9V-SVG

Yesterday the 10th Feb Singapore Airlines had an extra flight into Auckland using a B777-200ER.

9V-SVG operated SQ8287 into Auckland from Singapore and departed back to Singapore at 1400.

I'm not sure on the reason for this extra flight but I suspect the reason is related to a Chinese New Year Charter. Singapore also operated their usual A380 service as well yesterday.
