Airbus A350-1000 Arrives in Auckland

Well it finally arrived, and it sure was great to see this new model of the A350 family.

This A350-1000, F-WLXV is the latest model of the variant, and is on a round the world promotional sales tour being shown to prospective airlines, and Air New Zealand, are interested in this very nice and Ultra Long Range competitor to the B787. I guess we will all have to see what happens in the future.

Well it was rather dark when F-WLXV arrived but was well worth the trip to get these shots.

Corporate A330-200 VP-CBE

Well after some pretty crappy weather lately, it was good to see the sun out for the arrival into
Auckland yesterday Sunday 21st December of this all white Corporate Airbus A330-200 VP-CBE.

There are no colour markings at all on this aircraft, just the registration is painted on the rear of the aircraft, and that's it.

Airbus A350XWB F-WWYB Visits AKL

Airbus arrived into Auckland on Tuesday night just after 7pm with their A350XWB
(Extra Wide Body) test aircraft F-WWYB from Sydney as AIB304.

F-WWYB is on a round the world proving/test flight and we are pretty lucky to see it pass through Auckland, and this aircraft sure does look nice.

After a one night stay, F-WWYB departed Auckland again on Wednesday 6th Aug late afternoon bound for Santiago, Chile on the next leg of the Around the World tour.

AIR CHINA A330-200 Visits AKL

China Airlines operated a special service to Auckland arriving the 9th December for a 3 day visit. Operating the flight was registration B-6131

CHINA SOUTHERN A380 Downunder

China Southern's daily Auckland flight is normally operated using an A330-200.

However today's flight 10 December, CZ305 from Guangzhou was operated by China Southern's A380-800, B-6139
A large special group of people travelling on today's flight, warranted the up gauge of equipment.

The A380 will return to Guangzhou as scheduled, CZ306 Departing 2300 10 December.

Airbus Action in Auckland

Many airlines that service Auckland operate different variants of the Airbus Family. The only Airbus Models that do not service AKL by any of the airlines are the A310 and A319 aircraft.
Emirates will soon have two daily A380's into AKL, one from SYD and the other from MEL.
Air New Zealand's domestic jet services are slowly becoming an all A320 operation as the B737-300 is retired. Here are some photos from a variety of carriers and Airbus variants into AKL.
