On a recent trip to the South Island, I managed to get these shots out the window on the trip north again out of Wellington, after a transit stop. The light was just great, even through the window, dark skies to the east and sunny to the north.

Day Trip Auckland - Wellington
A week or so ago I flew down to Wellington for the day, flew down mid morning and back late in the afternoon. Sure was a great day for flying and here's the view I had out the window on the way down and back. I flew down on Air New Zealand's A320, ZK-OJQ and back on ZK-OXI.

NZ4 - Auckland - Los Angeles - Sunset
Before I start to show the photos I got whilst in the U.S.A last month, I'd thought it would be a good idea to show you these photos from my view out the window on my flight north from
Auckland to Los Angeles. I flew up on NZ4, departing Auckland at 15:45, and with clear skies and daylight for the first 2 hours of the flight.
The sunset over the Pacific Ocean was just magic, and one of the best I've seen for a long time from 31,000ft. The last photo was taken about 1 hour 40 minutes before arriving into LA.

Out the Window View - Wellington to Auckland
Boy it sure was a nice evening to Fly.......
It was a warm summers evening and this was the view I had out the window on my flight back to Auckland from Wellington on NZ476 seated in 9F.
Quite a few photos, but something different in each shot, and as it was early evening with the sun setting the light changed rapidly giving something different to each photo.

My flight down to Wellington for the Wings Over Wairarapa Air Show was onboard Air New Zealand, Flight NZ443, ZK-OJD and here are a few shots I took out the window on the approach to WLG with great views of the Wind Farm on the hills and Wellington City itself.

Pacific Sunrise - Magic
WOW - Going through some of my old photos and forgot I had this one, going back a few years..
I took this photo from Seat 1F onboard United Airlines UA842, about 8 hours out of AKL on yet another trip to LA, my old second home.

A Tail and a Winglet - ZK-NCJ
Took these shots late in 2013 on my way to SYD on NZ101.
My ride for the 3hr 25 minute flight was ZK-NCJ.
It was actually my first flight on an Air New Zealand's B767-300 since the winglets have been fitted throughout the 5 remaining in their fleet.

My First Plane Picture - EVER - Air Pacific BAC1-11
The year is 1979, and this is my first ever picture I took of an aircraft.
I took these pictures while on a family holiday to Fiji.
Seen here is Air Pacific's BAC1-11 (sorry not sure on the rego) which operated to Auckland from Suva on Saturday's. These machines were pretty dam noisy, but I enjoyed the ride anyway, and this is where my interest for airplanes really started.
The top photo was taken at Suva, just before I boarded the flight which for today was operating SUV-TBU-AKL.
As we approached TBU (Tonga) the Captain advised that due low cloud and a passing thunderstorm we might not be able to land today in TBU and might have to divert back to SUV for fuel. Well this was the case and after 2 approaches we diverted back to SUV.
We then flew SUV-AKL non-stop later that day in the same aircraft.
The second photo is out the window looking east en-route SUV-TBU about 20 minutes into the flight.
(photos have been scanned from slides)

Over The Pacific
I took these photos onboard NZ4, AKL-LAX last October about two and a half hours out of LAX and just before the breakfast service.
I have flown the AKL-LAX sector about 60 times as a passenger and on almost every flight, about two hours out of of LA there is always a thick cloud base below as far as you can see into the horizon. I was a bit late in waking up on this flight for some better photos, but the sunrise onto the clouds in the morning can be quite spectacular.

Over the Waikato
A few shots I took out of the window flying from Auckland - Hamilton (HLZ), flight NZ2211
on board ZK-EAB. Plenty of sun up top, but a cold winters day in the Waikato under the blanket of cloud. Today's flight time was 19 minutes...
