RNZAF Seasprite NZ3612
A surprise visitor to Auckland on the 5th February with the RNZAF's Seasprite NZ3612 taxing out, unusual, for 23L. I don't think he needed full length either. Anyway it was a nice surprise to see the Seasprite at AKL, all be it very briefly.

Bell Jet Ranger, ZK-IGD
Back at Ardmore Airport mid winter, in nice weather for a change, and lucky to be on hand for these photo's of this Bell Jet Ranger helicopter, ZK-IGD as it arrived and touched down. Nice colour scheme, very bright.

Grand Canyon Airport - KGCN
I visited briefly the Grand Canyon Airport, KGCN on our day trip to the Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona back in July. What a great little airport which was very busy with helicopters and a scenic flight Airline's taking tourists for flights over the Grand Canyon.
The airport is located at Tusayan, Arizona, is surround by forest trees and located 7 miles south the South Rim, to the Grand Canyon National Park. Grand Canyon Airport is also the only State Owned Airport in Arizona. I'll have to go back I think to take one of those scenic flights I missed out on.

Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane - N171AC
Some more photos as promised from Bishop Airport, CA on the 4th July.
Was I in luck when I saw this parked on the far side of the airport. I could see it from a distance but there was no way of driving over to it, so I headed off on foot fast as the sun was setting fast also.
This is the Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane, a heavy lift helicopter, hence the name "Skycrane".
And this machine, N171AC, named "Annie" was being based at Bishop Airport for the summer as a standby helicopter for Southern California or where ever it might be needed to fight those summer bush fires. This sure is a huge machine and it was great see it in person, and not just on the Discovery Channel, where it has feature many times.

Inflite Bell 427 Helicopter - ZK-HVN
This Bell 427, ZK-HVN helicopter is owned by Helilink NZ and operated by Inflite, a small charter operator. It was a pleasant surprise to see HVN turn up at Auckland Airport to collect some customers of an arriving corporate Boeing BBJ.
I was pretty please with how these photos turned out. and are my first of ZK-HVN.

From Moscow To New Zealand And Back
These Robinson R66 helicopters are on a marathon trip from Moscow, Russia to New Zealand, and Back. Yes that's right all the way from Russia to NZ in these very well looked after R66's, and then these aviators will turn around and head back.
Robinson's RA-06345 and RA-06360 arrived into Ardmore after dark on Sunday evening the 19th Oct from Norfolk Island via Kerikeri in the upper north island of New Zealand.
They will end up in Wanaka, later on this week as their final destination in New Zealand I believe after heading south via Wellington & Christchurch.
MRC Aviation has been following the progress closely of these machines, so keep a look out at MRC for further updates.

Super Puma - ZK-HHL
New Zealand's only resident Super Puma AS332 Helicopter just happened to taxi out and takeoff on a recent visit to Ardmore. ZK-HHL was shipped to New Zealand from Japan in 2013 and is registered to Heli Harvest Ltd.
