Something Different for a Change......

I sometimes try and get photos that are a bit different, most of the time they turn out crappy.
But sometimes I manage to get the focus on the camera working better then other times.

Thought I'd start post some of my more interesting photos, glad I didn't delete these one.

American Airlines B787-8, N805AA

The first few days of American Airlines entry back into New Zealand the weather was, well unfavourable for taking photos, and my first photos, well not the best either.

So when the clouds and rain finally disappeared for a few days, and the blue sky came out, so did the camera for these photos of N805AA heading back to Los Angeles.

I really like their livery.

United States Airforce, B757's - VIP Transport.

Well its not every day that the United States Vice President comes to Auckland,  and yesterday
Joe Biden was in town for a very short overnight stay after arriving just after dark on Wednesday night. The logistics and security when the second most powerful man in the world travels is just mind blowing. The Vice President along with his media, secret service agents and support crew arrived in the United States Airforce, VVIP B757 also known as a C-32, which is a highly modified Boeing B757 built solely for this purpose.  These are the best looking B757's in my opinion and the colour scheme is perfect.

So lots of photos here of the USAF C-32's, 98-0001 and 98-002 taxing out for a departure back to Hikam Airforce Base, Honolulu.

Virgin Australia B777-300ER, VH-VOZ

Virgin Australia from time to time send their B777-300ER's over to Auckland for some maintenance done by Air New Zealand at their Auckland Engineering base.

This time Virgin sent over VH-VOZ, and from what I could see, the number 1 Engine was removed and either replaced or refitted before being towed down for some engine runs yesterday.

These photos are of the tow back to the base after spending about 2 hours down at the far western end of the airport and 05L doing engine runs.

Air New Zealand Black B777-300ER, Updated Livery

Well Air New Zealand's Black B777-300ER has had a repaint with a slight change to its livery.
Now ZK-OKQ is wearing the standard Silver Fern with rest of the fleet in the new livery and larger and new font for the Air New Zealand name.

This aircraft sure is great to photograph in the right lighting conditions and I was pretty happy how these photos turned out. Thought is would be good to add in a couple of black & white versions.

The first five photos were taken on the 1st July as it was been towed down to the end of 05L for engine runs, and the take off photos were taken two days later on the 3rd Jul.

Have a great weekend everyone.....
