Cessna 310, ZK-DEM

Back at Ardmore Airport, and this is the first time I've been around when this Cessna 310, ZK-DEM has been on the move. ZK-DEM has been used for Aerial Survey work in the past, and I think it still is today.

Matamata Aerodrome

Last weekend I headed south again. On my return trip north again I decided to come back via a different route through Matamata in the Waikato, and a very brief stop at the Matamata Aerodrome, just north of Matamata at Waharoa.

The aerodrome has grass strips, with a few flying clubs and gliding clubs based there. The weather was rather wet and gloomy when I pulled in, but was happy to get some quick photo's of these three aircraft.

Volcanic Air, Cessna 206, ZK-FEO

Was away last weekend down country in Rotorua and managed to get these photos by the Rotorua Lake front of Volcanic Air's Cessna 206G, ZK-FEO as it arrived back from an 8 minute scenic flight over the city with some tourists onboard enjoying the New Zealand scenery.

It sure was nice to have great weather for a change.

Black Sands 2015, ZK-JSF

This Cessna 172, ZK-JSF called into Raglan and was doing Touch and Go Circuits for a little while at the Black Sands Fly in last year. These photos are of ZK-JSF performing a go around, due to being to high on the approach and decide to perform the go around as is crossed the fence at the end of the strip. Great chance to get some blue sky in the background though as a result.

Sedona Airport, KSEZ - Arizona

Sedona Arizona was one of our stops on our USA Road trip, and we spent a total of 3 nights there.
Sedona Airport, KSEZ is said to be one of America's most Scenic Airports, sitting atop a hill right in the heart of Sedona with a single runway 21 & 03 headings. The runway is 5135 ft long and has a 90 ft elevation change downhill on runway 21. The airport is at an elevation of 4830 ft above sea level.  The scenery around Sedona is just magic and the airport sure does have great views of the red rock mountains. There is a FBO operator based in the terminal, Red Rock Aviation and a restaurant the Mesa Grill if your feeling hungry.

So here a fews pics from my brief visit and aircraft on the ground at the time, including a Cessna Citation & Beech J50 Twin.

Barrier Air Grand Caravan - ZK-SDB

Great Barrier Airlines has re branded itself and is now called Barrier Air.

Barrier Air are now also operating this Cessna Grand Caravan, ZK-SDB which arrived into New Zealand in July 2015 after a long ferry flight from the United States. I actually quite like the Caravan, and have yet to fly on one.

Santa Monica Airport - N421LT

Back in the USA for these photos at Santa Monica Airport, KSMO whilst on holiday a month or so back. And on this occasion I just happened to be with the owner of this fantastic blog site
MRC Aviation, http://www.mrcaviation.blogspot.co.nz for a few hours of plane spotting, and a few cold beers afterwards.

So a quick few photos of this Cessna Citation 560XL, N421LT departing KSMO on a beautiful summers morning.

Omaka Airfield

On a recent trip to the South Island, and my very short visit to the Omaka Airfield in Blenheim, was well worth it, with great line up waiting for me to take photos of, and no none of these photos were planned, I just turned up and this is what was waiting for me.

A Boeing Stearman, Douglas DC3, Cessna 182, Piper Cherokee and a De Havilland Tiger Moth.

There was a gentleman also at the airfield flying his yellow Piper Cub radio remote control airplane and he thought that this would be a great photo of his model plane and ZK-BER together. Cute.
