Spent an hour in the sun yesterday watching some departures from AKL, with Runway 05R in use, with only about 3 knots of breeze down the runway, and the temperature was actually quite warm.
I waited around for Cathay Pacific CX198, AKL-HKG to depart, and as this flight is long haul, I knew it would use a fair about of runway, being and A340-300 of course, and hoping for some good shots. Well I can tell you that I was not expecting
B-HXA to use the whole runway, an rotating at Alpha 2, with not much room to spare at all today. She was pretty dam Heavy by the looks of it.
