I must admit I haven't taken many shots lately of Thai Airways at Auckland, so made a special trip to get these photos of Thai Airways TG492, B777-200ER, HS-TJS departing from 05R.
Next time I'll try for some sunnier conditions, summers coming !!!!!

Its was a good week for me to catch up with ZK-OKO, Air New Zealand's Hobbit Livery "Smaug" from the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy Movies. At last clear blue sky's and sunny conditions for these photos taken late afternoon.

Sunset Time as ZK-OKC Arrives in AKL

The sun had just set below the Waitakere Ranges to the West on a cloudless day, making the sky glow orange, and these photos possible. Three different photos and three different lighting effects as
Air New Zealand's new livery, ZK-OKC as NZ136 from Brisbane arrives home.

ZK-OKC is the first B777-200ER in the fleet to get the new livery, and still is the only B777-200ER to wear the new livery at this stage.

Air New Zealand's ZK-NZE - A Closer Look....

Some more photos again of Air New Zealand's B787-9 Dreamliner, ZK-NZE, but up a little closer for a view. I was pretty lucky to be able to get up close to this brand new black and shiny Boeing before entry into service. These photos were taken in AKL, and before the first flight out of Auckland since arriving from Boeing Field at Everett. So good to see everything nice and clean spotless, even the landing gear.

Pacific Sunrise - Magic

WOW - Going through some of my old photos and forgot I had this one, going back a few years..

I took this photo from Seat 1F onboard United Airlines UA842, about 8 hours out of AKL on yet another trip to LA, my old second home.

Another arrival onto 05R at AKL arriving from SYD as NZ104 operated by ZK-NCJ today.
Perfect conditions for flying today, clear skies and no wind, Cold though.
Winter is by far the best time for taking photos, great light and no heat haze.

Just magic again for getting these photos of Emirates, A6-EEG, taxing out in Auckland on beautiful golden sunset evening with only 10 minutes until sun down time. The sky was glowing orange also.
