Air Asia X Special Livery, 9M-XXD

Well the Aircraft Painting Department at Air Asia X have been busy, and again produced a stunning new special livery on their A330-300, 9M-XXD.

This time promoting UFC Boxing. Was lucky with the nice light also for these shots with dark clouds looming to the south.

Hi Fly Visits Again...

Hi Fly to the rescue again for Air New Zealand, seeing a second visit to Auckland for their
A340-300, 9H-FOX.

9H-FOX was chartered for a 3 week period to cover the Auckland - Honolulu - Auckland, NZ10/9 flights due to the B787-9 engine issues again affecting Air New Zealand.

Got these shots of NZ9 arriving from Honolulu a few days before the contracted ended and 9H-FOX left NZ again.

Very Rare Visitor - Illyushin 76

Well this sure is a very rare moment and a first I believe into New Zealand.

This is the People Liberation Army Air Force arriving in their Illyushin 76, 21047, at the RNZAF Whenuapai Base on Saturday 9th June.

This sure is my first time seeing this aircraft type and, finally got a shot, and probably wont be seeing to many more visitors like this. Good to see it arrive in daylight hours and the sun kind of out.

Out the Window in Wellington

On a recent trip to the South Island, I managed to get these shots out the window on the trip north again out of Wellington, after a transit stop. The light was just great, even through the window, dark skies to the east and sunny to the north.

Qantas New Livery, A330, VH-EBN

Well Qantas have changed their livery slightly, and I mean slightly, with a Font change and a strip of grey in front of the red tail and a sliver of grey also at the back of the Kangaroo.
Looks ok, but not much of a change really.

Singapore Airlines Cargo, Sunset Departure

Good to see nice weather in Auckland, even though winter is on the way. With the sun heading north, it sure does make for some great golden hour photos at this time of year.

Seen here departing for Melbourne with a very light load, is SQ's B747-400F, 9V-SFP earlier on in the week. In the second to last shot, an Air NZ A320 managed to photobomb just above SFP.
