World Champions Rugby Team into Auckland to a very warm welcome on board NZ1, ZK-OKQ.

What an awesome Win at the Rugby World Cup, and Congratulations, it's so proud to be a KIWI.

Palm Springs Air Museum - A-6E Intruder

Ok, part 2 from the Palm Springs Air Museum and this time the Grumman A-6E Intruder.

The A6-Intruder was used by the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps as an all weather medium attack aircraft, which saw plenty of action of Aircraft Carriers from 1963-1997.

The A-6 Intruder first flew in 1960 and entered service in 1963.

Alliance Airlines Fokker 50 - VH-FKO

At Last.....I've been wanting to get some good photos, well actually any photos of this
Alliance Airlines Fokker 50, VH-FKO for some time now, its just been a case of not being in the right place at the right time. So was pleased to see this turn up at the right time, this time.....

It's looks well proportioned in size and I actually quite like them. Would like to take a flight on one one day.

Proud Bird Restaurant - LAX

The Proud Bird has been a well known Aviation Themed Restaurant at the approach end of
Runway 25L at Los Angeles for as long as I can remember.

It sure does offer fantastic views for it's customers of the landing aircraft onto the closest runway 25L which is literary across the road and over the fence.
In the grounds outside and the carpark entrance there are old aircraft on display, all old and rather weathered though, that you can walk around for a closer look.

The Proud Bird almost closed it's doors for good last year, but is now going to stay open and is going to have some improvements made to the grounds and restaurant. Goods News to hear.

Singapore Airlines - SG50 Livery

Well it's that time of year again, and Singapore Airlines have started their A380 services to Auckland operating the daily return flights SQ285/SQ286 for the 2015/2016 summer season.

And yesterday the 27th Oct saw their second A380 flight for the season arrive into Auckland with their SG50 Special Livery worn by 9V-SKJ.
It looks pretty good and I hope to get some better shots over the summer period of SKJ or SKI if they make down to AKL. The last 2 photos aren't the best, could have been better.

This B757-300 started it's flying days with American Trans Air back in 2001 with the registration of
N553TZ.

As you can see its now in service with United Airlines and has the registration N57863

Cathay Pacific A340 - Up Close

Over the next month there is some maintenance work being done on the main taxiway at Auckland which has caused the closure of part of the taxiway. As a result the larger aircraft taxing out from the international terminal for a takeoff on Runway 23L now have to make a dog leg turn onto the secondary taxiway.
