End of Year 2012

This has been my first full year of doing Aviation Photography, and posting photos on a regular basis.

Boy, I still have lots to learn about how to take better photo's. I am looking forward to 2013 and more fun out and about with the camera.

I would like to say a big thank you to all that have followed my blog, and photos in 2012.

I will having a bit of time off over the Christmas & New Year holidays, so will be back posting photos again in 2013 in about the 2nd week of January.

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year for 2013, stay safe over the holidays and have fun. See you in 2013...

Aviator & Actor - Harrison Ford

It was my lucky day to spot my favorite actor of all times, Harrison Ford, flying 
his Cessna Caravan, 208B, N53U.

Harrison Ford, is a keen aviator and the owner of 8 different planes. I believe the plane he loves to fly the most is his De Havilland DHC-2 Beaver, N28S, which you can see in the background in photo 4 in this post.
If by any small change that you read this, great landing Harrison. Would love to go flying with you one day !!

Air Tahiti Nui F-OSEA

Air Tahiti Nui was formed by the French Polynesian Government and private investors in October 1996, to promote the Tourism sector of French Polynesia.
Air Tahiti currently operate a fleet of 5, A340-300 Airbus aircraft to 6 destinations. They operate their own aircraft to, Papeete, Paris, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Auckland. Sydney flights are operated on a codeshare basis with Qantas.
These photos are of F-OSEA, named "Rangiora" arriving into Auckland, which Air Tahiti Nui began services in August 2000.

AIR CHINA A330-200 Visits AKL

China Airlines operated a special service to Auckland arriving the 9th December for a 3 day visit. Operating the flight was registration B-6131

AIR PACIFIC - DQ-FJF

This year Air Pacific was re-launched as Fiji Airways

Their B737 Fleet consists of 3 Next Generation B737's. 2 B737-800's and 1 B737-700.
Seen here departing Auckland is DQ-FJF, B737-7X2.
This airframe first flew in August 1998 with a flight test registration of N1786B, and enter service with Air Pacific one month later in September 1998.
The Seating Configuration is 8 Business Class and 112 Economy.

Going back to 18 August 2008 this time and Air New Zealand's B747-400, ZK-NBW arriving into Auckland on Runway 05R from Brisbane as NZ136.

CHINA SOUTHERN A380 Downunder

China Southern's daily Auckland flight is normally operated using an A330-200.

However today's flight 10 December, CZ305 from Guangzhou was operated by China Southern's A380-800, B-6139
A large special group of people travelling on today's flight, warranted the up gauge of equipment.

The A380 will return to Guangzhou as scheduled, CZ306 Departing 2300 10 December.

BOEING B-52 STRATOFORTRESS

Well size matter in this case. This is one big aircraft.
The B-52 has been in service with the United States Air Force since the 1950's, and is capable of carrying 32,000 kg's of weapons and bombs.
